Young Alumni Awards Now Open!

St Laurence's College, in conjunction with the St Laurence's College Old Boys' Association, are excited to launch our newest award recognising young Old Boys and their positive contribution to society - the Young Alumni Award.

College Principal (Acting), Mr Ben Lowrie, noted the importance of this new award,

'The Young Alumni Award is our way of recognising the fantastic achievements of the young Old Boys in our local community and beyond. By acknowledging these young achievers, we shine a light on our graduates and how they have transferred their Lauries Journey and spirit into life after school. It is hoped that the recipients inspire our current students to follow in their footsteps.'

These sentiments were affirmed by St Laurence's College Old Boys' Association President, Mr Peter Wendt

'The St Laurence's College Old Boys' are excited about this new award, which will bring to the fore the achievements of our youngest Old Boys, much like the Hall of Fame acknowledges those who have experienced much success in their lives.'

Open to all Old Boys 30 years and younger at time of nomination, the award recognises those in our community who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, innovation and/or service, in either a professional or volunteer capacity. One Old Boy will be selected per year based on the following selection criteria:

  • Criteria 1: Evidence that their actions and achievements are inspirational to students and peers.
  • Criteria 2: Evidence of the impact of their action, leadership and innovation has had within the local, national and/or global community.
  • Criteria 3: Demonstrated the characteristics, values and actions which reflect St Laurence’s College’s Edmund Rice tradition and commitment to serving one another.

The successful candidate will be acknowledged at the yearly Old Boys' Assembly, held in August plus through College social media, publications and on an honour board located at the school. We hope this provides inspiration for the next group of Old Boys and beyond to achieve their own successes in life.

Nominations are now open until Monday 8 July. Nominate an Old Boy today via the below link. Further details are also available on the Old Boys' Association website accessible below.
