Saint Laurence's Old Boys' Association

Dear Old Boys,

I hope you had a happy and safe Christmas and New Year break celebrated with family and friends.

I reported on the SLOBA events of 2009 in the College Annual, if you have not purchased your copy, please contact the college. In summary, I firmly believe that the Saint Laurence’s Old Boys’ Association had a great 2009 and is continually strengthening. As you would likely be aware, key highlights included the Senior Old Boys’ Lunch, the Annual Dinner and the SLOBA, SLOBF and College meeting to coordinate the future of both organisations.

I would especially like to take this opportunity to thank Di Taylor (Registrar), Andrew Kendal (SLC Staff Representative), John O’Brien (Vice President), Matt Kan (Secretary) and Joe Kelly (Treasurer) for their efforts over the 2009. Without their assistance, the successes that were realised in 2009 would not have occurred. I also hope to have their assistance and yours throughout 2010. Please attend the AGM to be held on 1 February 2010 at the College if you are interested in assisting or providing feedback to the committee.

The dates for the Senior Old Boys’ Lunch and Annual Dinner have been confirmed and are detailed on the news and events page via the link above.

The Treasurer will provide a detailed report at the AGM, however, I am pleased to report that the association is in a good financial position with over $8,000 cash at bank to commence 2010. These funds are primarily used to keep in contact with the old boy network, and the majority of the expenses relate to printing, stationary and phone bills. Income is generated primarily through new memberships, donations and profits from the annual dinner.
