Secure Your Old Boy Socks Today!

What began as a special initiative during St Laurence's College's 110-year celebrations has become an enduring part of how we connect with Old Boys and their families.

The Future Lauries Initiative was created to celebrate the unique bond between generations of Lauries families and recognise an important milestone in the lives of our Old Boys – the moment they begin considering a St Laurence's College education for their sons.

Since its launch in 2025, more than 150 pairs of Future Lauries socks have been shared with over 130 Old Boy families. The initiative has provided a meaningful way to strengthen relationships with alumni, celebrate family connections to the College and introduce the next generation to the Lauries story from the earliest stages of their journey.

Eligible Old Boys who submit an Expression of Interest for a son aged 0–5 years receive a special package containing a pair of Future Lauries Parent socks for themselves and a pair of Future Lauries Student socks for their son. Complete this process now via the link available HERE.

The significance of both father and son receiving socks sits at the heart of the program. For Old Boys, the socks represent the continuation of a relationship that began during their own time at St Laurence's College and now enters a new chapter as a future Lauries parent. For their sons, the socks represent the beginning of a journey that is uniquely their own – one that may one day see them become part of a brotherhood that has shaped generations of young men since 1915.

College Principal Mr Ben Lowrie said the initiative reflects the College's commitment to fostering lifelong connections with its community.

"Future Lauries is a wonderful way to celebrate the connection so many Old Boys continue to have with the College while also recognising the role families play in shaping future generations of Lauries students. It speaks to the enduring strength of our community and the pride that comes with being part of the Lauries story."

One of the most rewarding aspects of the initiative has been seeing Old Boys and their sons proudly wearing their socks together. Families have shared photos from across Queensland and beyond, providing a powerful visual reminder of the generational impact of a Lauries education. These images have been featured throughout our community channels, helping to inspire other Old Boys and reinforcing the sense of belonging that has long been at the heart of St Laurence's College.

Importantly, the Future Lauries Initiative remains an ongoing commitment. By encouraging families to submit Expressions of Interest early, the College can build stronger relationships with prospective families, support long-term enrolment planning and ensure the connection between Old Boys and the College remains strong as families grow and evolve.

Old Boys who have a son aged 0–5 years and have submitted an Expression of Interest are encouraged to take part in the initiative and help continue a tradition that now spans more than 111 years.
